We need to heed the advise of Bro. Doug in this article to stay focused on Jesus this Christmas. Let us set aside all that has happened and turn our attention to celebrate the Birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ. ************************************************************ Holy Socks! Just when you think the world can’t get any crazier, you pick up a newspaper, turn on television or just listen to the conversations around you at the local cafĂ© and you hear … we should overhaul Health Care in the United States (or not) … “Developing Countries” walked out of Copenhagen Climate Summit … Tiger Woods may move to France … “Developed Countries” walked out of Copenhagen Summit … Guantanamo prisoners may be moving to northern Illinois … Iran tested another missile … let’s limit executive salaries … a child’s drawing of Jesus on the cross was declared a “violent image” and banned … the recession is / is not over …. and on and on! It’s time to say “STOP!!!” Close your eyes. Take a deep breath (yes, we’ve talked about doing that before). Now, open your eyes again … and FOCUS!! What really important, global impacting, predicted yet totally unexpected event are we about to celebrate? What is really worth our attention: the U.S. health care situation or the birth of The One by whose stripes/scourging we are healed? (Isaiah 53:5) Man’s attempt to influence the global climate, or the coming of The One by whom “all things were created; both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible … all things have been created through Him and for Him.”? (Colossians 1:16) The fall of a sporting idol, or the celebration of “One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin”? (Hebrews 4:15) The fate of prisoners bent of destroying those who disagree with their theology, or Him sent “to proclaim liberty to captives, and release to prisoners”? (Isaiah 61:1) The fear of weapons created for war, or the confidence of knowing that “the battle is Mine, says the Lord”? Manipulation of the global economic system, or worship of the God who “will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus? (Philippians 4:19) Of course, you and I can’t totally ignore all of those other things that bombard us every day - and we need to engage in many of those battles - but we can ask God to enable us to keep them in perspective. After all, “these momentary light afflictions are producing in us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison”! (2 Corinthians 4:17), and, as this season clearly reminds us, we can be “convinced that neither death nor life, nor angles, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38) The key during this season is the same as it has always been: “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith…” (Hebrews 12:2) … not always easy (that’s why God did not leave us to do it alone), but always effective. May God Bless Your Socks Off as you focus on Him more than ever this Christmas! Expectantly, DougPresident and CEO Click here for original source: Answering the call...Staying Focused. |

The Silent Prayer..
Bro Doug got a point here. Focus on JESUS who Died for Us when we were yet Sinners.Too many distractions in the secular world today.I shall not let the CC saga prophecy of 2003 distract me from doing the LORD's ministry ! Just learn to " LET GO " the secular distortions created by the CC illegality ! Stay focused on JESUS this Christmas ! GOD Bless ALL !
